F. Michael Ferrante, MD, holds a BS in Biology from Tulane University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, and an MD from New York Medical College. He received his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and fellowship in Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Ferrante is currently Director, UCLA Pain and Spine Care and Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Medicine at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology with Added Qualifications in Pain Medicine.
Dr. Ferrante is a former Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. He was the former Director of the Cancer Pain and Symptom Management Program, University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center. He was the Associate Medical Director, Board of Directors, Penn Home Infusion Committee. He presently is the President Elect of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.Dr. Ferrante is a consultant reviewer for the following journals: Anesthesia and Analgesia, Anesthesiology, Clinical Journal of Pain, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Pain. He is a current member of the Editorial Board for 3 national journals, as well as being a member of the International Editorial Advisory Board for the Turkish Journal of Pain. Dr. Ferrante has been the Chair for the Guidelines Committee for Cancer Pain Management for the American Society of Anesthesiologists since 1993. A teacher and lecturer since 1987, Dr. Ferrante has published over 47 journal articles, more than 43 book chapters, and edited 2 books.
Eric S. Hsu, MD, is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His teaching activities include the Pain Management Fellowship, Anesthesiology Residency Program and the Medical Student Clerkship as part of both Acute and chronic Pain Services at UCLA.

Dr. Hsu is board certified in anesthesiology and has a subspecialty certificate & recertification in Pain Management form the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Hsu has competed a transitional internship and a residency in anesthesiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Torrance, California and then he underwent fellowship training in pain management at Stanford University, Stanford, California.
As an invited lecturer, Dr. Hsu has delivered presentations on topics including herpes zoster and postherpetic neuralgia, complex regional pain syndrome (reflex sympathetic dystrophy and causalgia), acute pain management, myofascial pain syndrome & fibromyalgia, cancer pain management, and complimentary and alternative pain management.
Dr. Hsu has authored abstracts, review articles, and book reviews and served on the faculty of the acupuncture workshop at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Hsu serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Medical Acupuncture.
